Sassall Group – licenced builders and renovations experts
With a career spanning almost thirty years, Director Mick Sassall is experienced in almost all facets of the construction industry. From the family roots (domestic and commercial window manufacturing and installation) to now, as a licensed carpenter / builder in his own right.
For over 80 years the Sassall family name has been respected within the building industry, Australia wide. The window and glass business at its peak employed over 500 fulltime staff. After beginning his career within that family business Mick moved away to follow his passion for the profession of Carpentry. In the following years he worked on multimillion dollar residential homes from Sydney Harbour to Palm Beach. Here he progressed from Carpenter to Leading Hand, then to a supervisory role.
It was during time working on these projects that his enthusiasm for quality Carpentry, superior finishes and getting things done 'the right way' was ignited. Learning from industry experts such as Tim Rooney (Construction Connection), Architect Alex Popov and many other quality tradesmen has afforded him skills that have proven to be invaluable in all that he does.
In 2002 Mick moved back to Wollongong to start a family and his own business now named Sassall Group Pty Ltd.
Robert Beljan first came to Sassall Group as a fresh faced work experience kid. He is now our fresh faced apprentice! After noticing his enthusiasm, mature approach and keen questions relating to everything about the jobs he undertook we knew we had a great junior to add to our team. 3 years on and Rob continues to prove our decision was correct, he has taken instruction well, aced his Tafe projects and requirements and is well on his way to becoming a qualified tradesman – just 1 more year!
Nadine Sassall, Mick's wife, has long been attending to Mick's administrative requirements. In 2014, Nadine become a full time member of the team and will be your point of contact for anything to do with invoicing, quotes required & Micks schedule.
